A Wonderful story by C.M. Spencer. I expecially liked Jemma, she did add the unexpected to the story and in my opinion was the most facinating charater. Then there was Victoria with all of her matchmaking antics, she just wanted everyone to be as happy as she was. An excellent read to be sure.

Tickle MeTickle Me by Monica Bouvier

In this tale of wanton love, decadent seduction, and dangerous liaisons, we meet Alice—a quiet, meek woman who, at 29, has never been touched by a man, let alone experienced the piercing pangs of love’s bittersweet kiss upon the heart. Alice is obsessed with Greek Mythology, and early on, she resigned herself to the fact that Lachesis, the Fate who chooses our lot in life, destined her life to be one without love—that is until Erik, a mysterious admirer, surfaces.

Communicating at first solely online, Erik’s passionate poems and erotic love stories slowly break down Alice’s self-imposed wall of isolation. Throwing caution to the wind, they begin to share the most intimate of emails, awakening Alice’s innermost desires. She finds herself falling in love with Erik and in the possibility that he could be her one true love—her soul mate—despite the fact that they have never met in person.

Has Zeus finally heard her cries and granted Cupid, the offspring of Aphrodite, permission to hurl his arrow of love in Alice’s direction? Or, will she get caught up in love’s unscrupulous web of deception and deceit after the identity of her mysterious lover is revealed? How far will Alice venture to recapture love lost—real or imaginary? How far would you go?

Alices' first bite of love and desire is Eric who persues her with a passion. Thier story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you have it figured out...that is not the case.
I did find the novel a bit wordy, and I almost put it down, but it picked back up, so I'm glad I didn't. All in all a good romance that will take you by surprise.

Lunch with CharlotteLunch with Charlotte by Leon Berger

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born in Vienna just after World War I, Charlotte survived the Nazi invasion, escaping on the Kindertransport to England and then to Canada.
Every Friday for the last 25 years of her life, I had lunch with Charlotte and each week she told me more of her extraordinary story. To all appearances, she was a strong and dignified survivor, with old-world courtesies, a twinkling sense of humor, and a lilting Austrian syntax. Yet deep within, she'd been scarred by a profound personal trauma.
Finally, just before she died at the age of 91, she chose to entrust me with this profound secret, and all at once I understood how it had affected her entire adult life. This is a story of friendship and strength, of courage and betrayal. It is an epic tale set against the backdrop of history.
A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM EVERY SALE OF THIS BOOK ARE DONATED TO THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUM OF HOUSTON, TEXAS.

UsUs by Matthew McKay

Psychologist Dr. Matthew McKay tells the story of Margaret, a young woman tortured by her struggle with dissociative identity disorder, a severe and controversial psychological disorder characterized by the presence of two or more distinct identity states or personalities. Treatment is aimed toward ultimately integrating the multiple personalities. Margaret chooses to live her life without undergoing this recommended integration, and wants her boyfriend, Walker, to accept her as she is—alternating between a frightened child, an angry male adolescent, a bawdy southern belle, and a suicidal woman who seems to belong nowhere. McKay uses Us to explore what happens in relationships when one is damaged, but seeks acceptance as opposed to being fixed.” As Margaret teeters at the edge of self-destruction, Us examines the far limits of what can be given in the name of love.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Told third person, so to speak. I wasn't sure when I first started reading Us if I was going to continue reading it. Yet I found myself compelled to go further. I found both Walker and Margaret to be unique. Such a bittersweet story, I am so glad I did read on.
