The Camomile LawnThe Camomile Lawn by Mary Wesley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lazy summer days of Oliver, Calypso, Walter, Polly and Sophie spent with thei Aunt Helana and Uncle Richard every year, brought joy to a rather dull household. When the summer is cut short by war, their lives are forever changed. Rather than living their lives in fear, they live with a passion for life and in their lives. Sophie who is ten when the war starts, in my opinion is understated and mysterious.
Mary Wesley is a gifted writer, she is able to keep you enticed and wishing you could put the book down.
One of the best novels I have read in a very long time
